Sisa Jasper is a contemporary artist living in Dallas, Tx. This self-taught artist won her first art contest at the tender age of 11 and was awarded the National Donrey Award. Her award winning painting was published and placed on billboards, made front page news, and articles were written and placed in several magazines about the newly found child prodigy. At 14, she won the Federal Express Safety Slogan Art Contest and was immediately enrolled into college art classes to pursue her destiny of becoming a “famous artist”. Sisa, however, rejected this predestined future and slowly withdrew from doing anything creative over the next 10 years, and instead, sought a future in financial investments. Success in the financial field and a few life-changing experiences later, her divine gift began to emerge again. In 1999 (age 27 for those counting), she quit investments and moved to Dallas to pursue her dream. Dallas proved to be an ideal market for her and within two years she had 3 independent art consultants representing her work and now averages 2-3 shows per year. Her work can be found in many private and corporate collections including hotel chains such as Westin, Mandalay Hotel, Inner Continental, The Wynn, Pronghorn Golf Resort, to name a few. From 2001-05 she was commissioned to paint original pieces for the Cheddar’s & Fish Daddie’s Restaurant Chain. The Dallas Museum of Art auctioned work of Sisa’s benefiting the Beau Arts Ball in 2003. In 2002 her work was the featured piece on the pilot episode of NBC/Bravo Network television series “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”. You can also see Jasper artwork in several movies including “The First Time”, “Puccini forBeginners”,“P.S. I Love You”, "Shopaholic" (2009), and"Reunion" (due out in 09). Next show will be at the Agora Gallery in NYC - July 23, 2009.
